    Stonehenge

  • As you drive through the swirling mists of the Salisbury plain, the trailers of mist part and you gape incredulously at the glorious tableau. An ancient henge encloses enormous orthostats and colossal trilithons of heathen sarsen and shadowy dolerite. "Stonehenge…" you breathe in an awed whisper. "Large rocks stuck in the sod," observes your more prosaic companion, "for no good reason that I can think of. Besides, technically, some would claim Stonehenge isn't even a henge, you know." So, technically, what's a henge? Well, it's a round or oval bank with an interior ditch, of course!

    Through the Stars

    Don't Space out on me

  • Antares is the 16th brightest star in the sky. It is fairly close to us too... only about 600 light years away. (Meaning that its light, traveling at 186,282 miles per second, takes only 600 years to reach us!) To put this 600 light years into perspective... The furthest celestial body visible to the naked eye is the Andromeda Galaxy and its roughly 2,610,000 light years away!

The "particle horizon", the horizon of the visible part of the universe, is 13.2 billion (13,200,000,000) light years away from us. Our sun is only 8.3 light-minutes from earth, imagine that!

  • Communication is the process of transferring information from a sender [Me] to a receiver [You] with the use of a medium [like a phone] in which the communicated information is understood by both sender and receiver. Simple enough?
